Fruit is round or oblong, berry deep purple when ripe with sweet of tart flesh. Fruit is edible berry 5 cm long, not quite spherical. Green at first, ripening deep purple with a thin glossy skin, inner pulp white or pink juicy, sweet or with an acid tang, containing a pigment, which stains the mouth blue.
