GUAVA TREE : A small, spreading tree with an open crown and a slender crooked stem, often branching close to the ground.. The thin coppery bark peeling off the pale, bony stem is a distinctive character. Young branches are peculiarly 4 angled. The fruit are too familiar to need description. It is a small tree semi evergreen. flowers solitary or in small clusters, from leaf axis, petals 4-5 pure white, fragrant stamens, numerous, crowded, white tipped with yellow anthers. Fruit : round or pear shaped up to 10 cm long skin green, turning yellow or pink when ripe flesh sweet or tart, embedded with numerous tiny seeds.
