India is home of over 2,600 native species, out of these 650 are endemic.  India is also home to hundreds of species of exotic or alien trees, many of them brought over by traders, travelers and later colonial rulers.                                         Tripura                                                                     (In the lap of nature) Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary   is truly a biodiversity heaven of Tripura.  The sanctuary had more than 400 plants species. The moist decidual forest is the habitat of different species of primates like Rhesus macaque, Pigtailed macaque, capped langur, Spectacled monkey, Slow loris and several other wild animals like Leopard, Clouded leopard,Jungle Foul, Civet, Barking Deer, Wild Pig etc.

                          Makar Sankranti                                                                         (मकरसङ्क्रान्ति ) Harvest Festival "Makar means Capricorn, and the Sankranti means transformation,  that marks the sun’s change into ever-longer days.  "                                        "ॐ सूर्याय नम:।" This festival is dedicated to the solar deity, Surya  Makar Sankranti is the festival dedicated to Sun God which purifies the nature and helps to abolish our sins and bad deeds.  As a sign of divinity and wisdom, Hindus revere the Sun God. Makar Sankranti onwards, days become longer and warmer compared to nights. Makara Sankranti (also known as Maghi) is a Hindu festival devoted to Surya (sun), celebrated on the 14th of January (mid winter)  every year.   As per the Hindu belief, Makar Sankranti  is the beginning of the auspicious period for six months- a victory of light over the darkness or the end of the darkest night of the year.
